SPEARFISHING
REEF FISH
The majority of spearfishing with a polespear takes place in water that is less than 60ft deep. The fish targeted in this depth are common reef fish that are fun to hunt and excellent to eat. To hunt these reef dwellers, we developed the PREDATOR Polespear.
We recommend the PREDATOR Polespear for common reef fish, including:
- Small Grouper - Mutton Snapper - Hogfish - Cero Mackerel - Yellowtail Snapper - etc.

PREDATOR POLESPEAR
The PREDATOR Roller Polespear is hands down the fastest spear that we have ever created. It's fun to shoot and easy to maneuver in the water. We have landed more yellowtail snapper on this spear than any other spear we've ever built, a testament to its laser-like speed.
The standard PREDATOR Polespear is slightly slower than the roller, but less expensive and has fewer moving parts. The standard PREDATOR Polespear can be adapted to a roller at any time by swapping out the back piece for the roller rear section. Both the standard and the roller PREDATOR Polespear designs deliver lightning-fast, accurate shots.

About Father's Day
Sonora Smart Dodd heard a sermon about Mother’s day in a church. After hearing the sermon, Sonara decided that there should be a day to show our love and respect towards fathers since her father had raised her and her five siblings after her mother passed away. Celebrating father’s day seemed a right way to honor her father.

SPEAR TIP OPTIONS
The Predator Polespear comes fully rigged with an 12" injector rod and WARHEAD cable slip tip. Over the years we've learned from our customers that it's preferred to keep spare spear tips and injector rods on-hand while diving. The injector rod is designed to bend before the spear does, so it is the most likely component needing replacement after a struggle landing a fish. While it's hard to lose a spear tip, having a spare is advantageous—it can keep you in the water diving instead of in the boat trying to remove your slip tip from a fish.
All Headhunter complete polespear setups include a standard size WARHEAD slip tip with cable. However, we do offer both the standard tip and a larger Big Game Spear Tip rigged with 1000 pound spectra. The spectra is more user-friendly than cable. Spectra is especially important if you're targeting softer fish such as mackerel, because it wont saw through the fish like cable can. For small fish, lionfish, and lobster, the 3-prong spear tip can be attached to the rear section of the PREDATOR Polespear. This creates a small setup using your existing gear that quickly adapts to hunt these species.
- WARHEAD Cable Slip Tip comes standard with the PREDATOR Polespear
- WARHEAD Spectra Slip Tip is best for sharky waters, and more manageable than cable; better for soft-bodied fish
- WARHEAD Big Game Slip Tip is best for bigger soft-bodied fish such as large mackerel, rigged with 1000 pound spectra and 1" longer than the standard WARHEAD Slip Tip
- WARHEAD Injector Rod - we recommend keeping a spare 11.5" for the PREDATOR on hand for quick replacement
